The Mankins of a Good Lineman

First-round pick Logan Mankins played his entire Fresno State career at left tackle, yet he was projected by NFL scouts as a guard -- and that's exactly where he lined up during the Pats' recent rookie mini-camp. That's also the position where Mankins has the best opportunity to earn playing time this year, as Joe Andruzzi departed to Cleveland in free agency. The Pats love Mankins' versatility. He has the athleticism to play out in space and take on speed rushers, but he also has the strength and aggressiveness needed to take on bigger defensive linemen on the interior of the line.
